Boom! Looking at Oil Train Transportation IssuesI created this video using Adobe Premier for The Planet magazine published by WWU.
Synopsis: Increased oil transportation via rail resulted in five explosive train derailments in the first five months of 2015. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, U.S. oil production growth in 2014 was the largest in more than 100 years, largely due to oil extraction from shale formations located in the center of North America. Many different groups are debating risks of oil trains—from elected officials of the U.S. and other sovereign nations, to industry representatives and first-responders.
